Animal product compliance & labeling

Animal Product Labeling and Compliance Review

Label, packaging and website claims review for animal product companies—scoped by product, species and intended use, with qualified specialists where formal assessment is needed.

We check that your label, packaging, website and listings say the right thing, the same way—then help you fix what does not.

Common review requests

What brands usually send us first

  • Pet food label review services

Product identity, ingredient statement, guaranteed analysis, feeding directions and nutritional-adequacy language compared against the formula information you provide.

  • Dog treat label compliance review

Treat labels checked for required statements, intermittent-feeding wording and functional or health-style claims that can change how a product is regulated.

  • Cat food label compliance review

Required label elements plus front-panel claims such as complete-and-balanced, life-stage, grain-free or natural checked for support and consistency.

  • Private label pet food labeling

Coordination between the brand's packaging, the co-manufacturer's formula and records, and the brand's own website claims.

  • Pet supplement label and claims review

Label, product page, Amazon or Chewy listings, ads and social posts reviewed for intended-use and disease-type wording the product cannot support.

  • Equine supplement and animal feed labels

Equine supplement, livestock and specialty feed labels reviewed against species, intended use and the federal and state feed rules that apply.

  • Pet food packaging compliance audit

Cartons, bags, inserts, shelf talkers and secondary packaging compared with the primary label and the website so every surface says the same thing.

  • Pet product ecommerce claims review

Marketplace bullets, A+ content, product images and retailer listings checked against the current label and approved copy.

  • Veterinary drug promotional labeling review

Sales aids, detail pieces, webinars and digital ads checked for consistency with approved labeling, indications, warnings and fair balance.

Each request is scoped first by product type, species, intended use and where it is sold, because those decide which federal and state rules apply. Planning a broader refresh? We also handle veterinary pharmaceutical website redesign so approved labeling, product pages and HCP resources stay aligned.

Products we scope

Different products, different rules.

Before identifying requirements we check intended use, ingredients, species and claims. Each category is scoped individually with qualified reviewers.

Pet foods and treats

Product identity, ingredient statements, guaranteed analysis and nutritional statements where applicable, feeding directions and marketing claims. FDA does not pre-approve ordinary pet food labels and AAFCO does not approve individual products; many states adopt AAFCO model regulations, so federal and state requirements are identified separately.

Animal feeds

Livestock and specialty feed labels reviewed against intended use, species and applicable federal and state feed requirements.

Products marketed as pet supplements

Intended use and claims assessment first: depending on what a product claims, it may be regulated as an animal food or an animal drug. Human dietary-supplement rules are not applied to animal products.

Grooming and care products

Claims review to identify where cosmetic-style, pesticide or drug-type claims change how a product is treated.

Veterinary drugs

Promotional content aligned with approved labeling: species, indications, dosing language, warnings and fair balance, following current FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine guidance.

Relevant animal devices

Marketing and labeling consistency for animal devices, scoped individually with qualified reviewers.

Who does what

Clear responsibilities

BeyBear manages the project, comparison work, copy and creative revisions. Formal regulatory assessment is performed or confirmed by appropriately qualified specialists named in your scope, matched to the product type (for example animal feed and pet food regulatory specialists for foods and treats, or veterinary regulatory specialists for drug promotional material). Your team or counsel makes final approval decisions.

BeyBear's founder is a former FDA investigator specializing in medical devices; that background shapes how we organize evidence and review, but it is not a substitute for product-specific specialist review.

A label review is not a facility audit, certification or FDA approval, and no review eliminates enforcement risk. See the regulatory disclaimer.

Questions, answered

Before you send your label

Which animal products can you review?

Pet foods and treats, animal feeds, products marketed as pet supplements, grooming and care products, veterinary drug promotional content and relevant animal devices. Each category is scoped individually because they do not all fall under the same FDA framework.

Can you review our label and website together?

Yes. The Label + Website Claims Review compares the package with your product pages, listings and ads so the product story stays consistent everywhere.

What documents do you need?

Final or draft label artwork, the ingredient list and formula information you can share, intended use and species, current web and listing copy, and any supporting substantiation or supplier documents relevant to the claims.

Can you help private-label brands?

Yes. Private-label projects often need coordination between packaging, supplier records and the brand's website claims, and we scope that coordination explicitly.

Do you review equine supplements and livestock feed?

Yes, scoped individually. Equine and livestock products are reviewed against their species, intended use and the federal and state feed requirements that apply where they are sold.

Does a label review include a facility audit?

No. A label review examines labels and marketing content. Facility, GMP or FSMA gap assessments are a separate, specialist-delivered engagement that we scope and coordinate only when your project needs it.

Who performs regulatory review?

BeyBear leads the project, creative and content work. Regulatory assessment is performed or confirmed by appropriately qualified specialists identified in your scope, and your team or counsel gives final approval. BeyBear's founder is a former FDA investigator specializing in medical devices.

Can you guarantee our label is compliant or FDA-approved?

No. A review identifies issues and recommends revisions; it is not FDA approval, certification or a guarantee against enforcement. Ordinary pet food labels are not pre-approved by FDA, and final decisions rest with your team or counsel.

Can you revise packaging after review?

Yes. We can prepare label copy and artwork revisions, then update the matching website and listing content so the changes are applied consistently.
